Congratulations, Executive MBA class of 2017!

The graduation ceremony of the Executive MBA class of ‘17 was held in late April.

Whenever the programme ends, both the students and the faculty members involved in their education have mixed feelings. On the one hand, they are enormously pleased about everything they have achieved, the growth they have experienced at all levels, and the excitement of a new phase in life; on the other hand, they are somewhat sad about leaving behind a group that has contributed to the personal and professional development of each participant, and about the end of an era that marked a turning point in their lives.

As class representatives Kseniya and Don confessed, the 45 participants, with their diverse range of backgrounds, profiles and objectives, “started out as a class of students and ended up like family”.

That just about says it all. Congratulations to all of you, and I hope these months are just the beginning of a lifetime of successes and achievements, both personal and professional.

A celebration of talent at the Graduation Ceremony for the 14th Executive MBA in Madrid

The venue —  Casa de América — was decked out for the graduation ceremony for the 14th ESADE Executive MBA programme in Madrid, held on the 3rd of June 2016. The event was a sea of smiling faces and fond embraces as the graduands celebrated their success.

Student delegates Jorge Munir and Myriam Ramos stressed that the sixteen-month programme had been an intense learning experience at both the personal and professional levels. They thanked each of their fellow students and teachers with a few well-chosen words. They also expressed their deep gratitude to graduands’ families, saying “We wish to share our success with our families because they also helped to make it possible”.

After congratulating the students, Michele Quintano, Director of the programme in Madrid, moved on to awarding the diplomas — the high point of any graduation ceremony during which each graduand is warmly applauded and cheered by the congregation.

The keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony for the 14th Executive MBA programme in Madrid was Daniel Carreño, President and CEO of General Electric in Spain and Portugal. Carreño’s speech focused on the way digitalisation is transforming the industrial world. In his words, “We are not living in an Age of Changes but rather seeing the dawn of a New Age”. He also noted that in today’s industrial setting, one needs to be flexible and to bear in mind that talent is one of the keys to success.

The crowning moment of this very special day was a musical performance and commemorative video, in which the graduands thanked ESADE faculty for their unwavering support during the whole adventure in education. Michele Quintano was given a T-shirt by the new ESADE Alumni as a token of their gratitude. Michele reciprocated by donning the garment in a thrice.

It only remains for us to wish this year’s crop of talented graduates of the Executive MBA programme in Madrid every success in their careers. Here we cite the words of the Director of ESADE Madrid, Enrique Verdeguer: “The real path begins now. We hope to share it with you”.

Congratulations!

We congratulate the 16th crop of Barcelona EMBA graduates!

All effort brings its rewards and the happy faces of the 16th crop of graduates of ESADE Barcelona’s EMBA programme at the graduation ceremony held on the 29th of January was a case in point. They were the stars of the occasion.

The graduation ceremony was held at the ESADE Forum and crowned months of hard work. The programme was a unique experience for its participants. Sonia Madorga and Vicente Sancho recalled it in the name of all those who took it. They not only mentioned the over 1,000 hours spent in taking the programme but also the opportunity it gave them to get to know their classmates and forge lasting links.

Sonia and Vicente also spoke of their training stays and exchange experiences in India, China, Canada, France, Australia and The United States.

“Never forget that the spirit of ESADE is to work for the common good and a fairer society”, reminded Esteban Mogas, Director of the EMBA programme. Prof. Fernando Trias de Bes stressed the importance of change, vocation, the importance of emotions, disruptive innovation and being fearless in pursuing personal and professional success. “Think big, do not be put off by unexpected setbacks and keep your eyes wide open”, he told the graduating students.

Jordi Brunat, Executive Director of ESADE’s Executive Education Unit, referred to values as the driving force: “I would like to see where our values have taken you in ten years’ time and the good you have done with them.”

The crowning moment was the award of the diplomas. Each graduand was applauded by classmates, family and the whole ESADE Executive Education community. It was one of the most emotion-packed moments of the graduation ceremony.

It only remains for us to warmly congratulate the 16th graduating class of the EMBA programme. Well done!
